Application Process: 5 Steps to Success

1. Verify Your Eligibility

As a proud member of the B.C. Association of Farmers Markets, we do not allow wholesale, manufactured, or imported goods, or reselling.

  • Requirements: You must make, bake, grow, your offerings/wares.
  • Sustainability: Priority is given to vendors with a sustainable focus. For farms, organic certification is required. Backyard growers under 1/4 acre may be exempt.

2. Review the Policy Manual

Before applying to a review committee, download and read our Policy Manual. This document covers specific vendor requirements, market ethics, and operational overviews.

3. Submit Your Application

Applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteer vendors.

  • Timeline: See each vendor category for specific application dates. Please apply with as much advance notice as possible. The review process can take time, especially during the active market season.
  • Forms: Choose the specific application form for your category (see below).

4. Membership Registration

Once approved, you will receive a Membership Registration & Participant Agreement. After signing and paying your annual membership ($31.50), you are officially ready to book your dates! More information on membership can be found here.

5. Stall Setup & Regulations

  • Standard Stall: 10’ x 10’
    Regular: $42+GST per market
    Corner: $48+GST per market)
  • Half Stall: 5’ w x 10’ d
    $21+GST per market

Reserved Stall vendors receive a 20% discount on stall fees, but do not get a refund or credit for missed dates. Vendors may only sell products that have been explicitly reviewed and accepted by the review committee.

Information for New & Returning Vendors

  • For New Vendors:
    If you have not vended with Victoria Farmers Market at Moss Street during the last regular season, you are considered a New Vendor. Please follow the procedures for review as outlined above.
  • Returning Vendors:
    If you were a vendor during the last regular season and are returning this season, please read over the above information – a little refresher never hurts!
  • Introducing new products?
    If you are introducing new product(s) to your booth this year (or at any time during the year), the new product(s) must first be reviewed! Complete the relevant application form to have your new product(s) reviewed.
